High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) sheet is a thermoplastic sheet processed by extrusion or calendering, made from polystyrene resin modified with rubber components. It combines the excellent processability of polystyrene with enhanced toughness and impact resistance, filling the gap between rigid PS and flexible plastic materials. With a smooth surface, stable dimensions, and easy secondary processing, HIPS sheet has become a cost-effective solution for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications.
Superior Impact Resistance
Modified with elastomer additives, the sheet maintains high toughness even at low temperatures (-20℃ to 60℃), effectively resisting drops and collisions without cracking, which is 3–5 times higher than that of general PS sheets.
Excellent Processability
It is easy to be cut, punched, bent, thermoformed, and glued. It can be processed into various complex shapes, suitable for both manual small-batch production and automatic large-scale production lines.
Good Optical & Surface Properties
Available in matte, glossy, and customized textured surfaces. It has good printability and can be subjected to offset printing, screen printing, and hot stamping processes to achieve high-quality surface decoration effects.
Cost-Effective
Compared with engineering plastics such as ABS and PC, HIPS sheet has a lower raw material cost while meeting the basic performance requirements of most applications, with high cost performance.
