Black PP Thermoforming Sheet
Black PP (Polypropylene) thermoforming sheet is a high-performance plastic processing material made from food-grade or industrial-grade polypropylene resin as the base material, mixed with high-quality black colorants, anti-UV agents, anti-aging additives, and other functional modifiers, then produced through processes such as extrusion, calendering, and cooling. It is specifically designed for the thermoforming process—by heating the sheet to a thermoplastic state, it can be shaped into various three-dimensional products using molds (such as vacuum forming, pressure forming, or plug-assisted forming), and maintains stable physical and chemical properties after cooling and setting.
Core Characteristics
  1. Excellent Thermoformability

It has a wide thermoforming temperature range (typically 140-180°C) and good ductility when heated, allowing it to fit complex mold shapes tightly without cracking or whitening. After forming, it retains clear edges and stable dimensions, with low shrinkage rate (generally 1.5%-3%), ensuring consistency in batch production of products.
  1. Superior Mechanical Performance

The sheet exhibits high impact resistance and tensile strength, even in low-temperature environments (down to -20°C), it does not easily become brittle. Its surface hardness is moderate, which can resist minor scratches and collisions, making the formed products durable for long-term use.
  1. Functional Advantages

  • Color Stability: The uniformly dispersed black colorant ensures no color fading, blooming, or unevenness on the sheet surface, even after long-term exposure to light (when anti-UV additives are added) or contact with weak acids/alkalis.

  • Food Safety Compliance: Food-grade black PP thermoforming sheets meet international standards such as FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and EU EC 10/2011. They are non-toxic, odorless, and do not release harmful substances, making them suitable for food contact applications.

  • Lightweight & Cost-Effective: Compared with other thermoforming materials (such as PET or PS), PP has a lower density (0.90-0.91 g/cm³), which reduces the weight of finished products. Meanwhile, its raw material cost and processing energy consumption are relatively low, helping to control overall production costs.
