Transparent printed PET film is a widely used material in the packaging industry, particularly suitable for heat-sealable bags.
Excellent transparency: PET film's high transparency allows for a clear display of the product inside the bag, enhancing its appeal and presentation, allowing consumers to visually see the product.
Excellent physical properties: It boasts high strength and abrasion resistance, with a tensile strength 5-10 times that of PE. It offers high mechanical strength, excellent stiffness, and resistance to cracking and breakage. This effectively protects packaged items, extends the shelf life of products, and protects bags from damage during transportation and storage.
Excellent high-temperature resistance: PET has a high glass transition temperature and melting point (Tg ~ 78°C, Tm ~ 260°C) and low thermal shrinkage. During the heat-sealing process, it can withstand high temperatures. While the inner heat-sealable layer remains molten during sealing, the outer PET layer maintains its shape, preventing deformation and shrinkage. This ensures that the outer packaging film maintains its flawless appearance and prevents cracking during the heat-sealing process. Good Chemical Stability: PET is resistant to oils and chemicals, remaining insoluble in most solvents except nitrobenzene, chloroform, and benzyl alcohol. It is acid-resistant but not alkali-resistant, protecting the contents of the bag from chemical attack.
Good Barrier Properties: PET offers some barrier properties to gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide, surpassing PE and BOPP, but not as good as PVDC and NY. Its water vapor barrier is moderate, better than NY but worse than BOPP, helping to keep the contents of the bag dry and fresh.
Excellent Printability: PET's smooth surface and high polarity provide excellent ink adhesion, making it ideal for high-quality gravure and flexographic printing.
