Biodegradability: PLA is a new biodegradable material made from starch derived from renewable plant resources such as corn and cassava. In natural environments, especially under industrial composting conditions, compostable clear PLA sheet and 0.5mm biodegradable PLA rigid coil are completely degraded by natural microorganisms, typically within 3-6 months, into carbon dioxide and water. Unlike traditional plastics, they do not cause long-term environmental pollution.
Excellent Physical Properties: They offer transparency approaching that of traditional PET sheet, high gloss, and low haze. They also offer tensile strength comparable to PET, typically reaching approximately 50 MPa, impact strength up to 25 MPa, and elongation at break of 30%. They also possess a certain degree of hardness and rigidity, meeting the needs of diverse applications.
Processing Flexibility: They are suitable for a variety of processing methods, including extrusion, blister molding, injection molding, and blow molding. It can be processed into various shapes and sizes according to specific needs. A thickness of 0.5mm falls within the common processing thickness range, facilitating subsequent molding.
Safety and Hygiene: Polylactic acid (PLA) possesses excellent antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it the only biodegradable plastic with such properties. Viruses and molds are less likely to adhere to its surface, offering high safety and hygienic properties. It can be used in areas requiring high hygiene, such as food packaging and medical devices.
